GALAXIES AND BLACK HOLES

Hoy ,aprovechando que es el día internacional de la Discapacidad y que en el aula  de Science estamos trabajando la unidad  titulada: "THE EARTH AND THE UNIVERSE",  hemos  utilizado  el programa de PDICIENCIA " Deporte inclusivo, galaxias y agujeros negros" para que nuestro alumnado  amplie sus conocimientos sobre las galaxias y los agujeros negros supermasivos gracias a la entrevista realizada en el Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía por Enrique a Isabel Márquez, especialista en galaxias.

Además, hemos conocido a nuestros campeones de baloncesto adaptado de España,Ali-Up Bailén .

¡¡ Cuánto hemos aprendido!!

ANIMAL AND PLANT CELL PROJECT.

 

The students of 6th level have made a project about the cells. The objective of this activity is for students to identify  the differences and similarities between plant ansd animal cell .For that, they have worked in groups , have drawn and label each model of cell.

USING GAMES TO REVIEW CONCEPTS AND SCIENCE VOCABULARY

THE BENEFITS OF  GAMES IN EDUCATION.

 That children with different abilities play together is very positive for the development of all the children because together the children observe each other, learn and progress together. In addition, it is an opportunity to develop social skills such as empathy, patience, respect ... and work together on complex topics.

 The game is something natural in these ages so, why not take advantage of it to learn and review?

THE SCIENCE GAMES

 Here are some of the games that  I  have used for the first units:

GAME: RAISE YOUR BOARD!

Our students were separated into three groups with one chalkboard per a team.

We reviewed science concepts as well as English writing , spelling and pronunciation through a mini quiz.

 The students listened to a question in English and had time to discuss it with their team.

Then they had three seconds before they had to raise their board to show their answer.

If they wrote the correct answer and pronounced it correctly, their team received one point.

The team with the most points at the end won the game.

 GAME: CONNECT 4

  Our students reviewed vocabulary in English and Spanish with a game called CONNECT 4. The game consisted of listening to a question in English, pointing to the corresponding picture on the interactive board, and translating the answer to Spanish. If they answered correctly, they put their blue or yellow chip in the grid to help their team create a sequence of four blue or four yellow chips to win the game. 

LOS BENEFICIOS DE LOS JUEGOS EN LA EDUCACIÓN. Que los niños con habilidades diferentes jueguen juntos es muy positivo para el desarrollo de todos los niños porque juntos se observan, aprenden y progresan juntos. Además, es una oportunidad para desarrollar habilidades sociales como la empatía, la paciencia, el respeto ... y trabajar juntos en temas complejos.


  El juego es algo natural en estas edades, así que, ¿por qué no aprovecharlo para aprender y repasar los contenidos de Ciencias?


JUEGOS EN CIENCIAS

  A continuación podreis ver algunos  de los juegos que he usado para trabajar estas primeras unidades :

 

¡LEVANTAD VUESTRAS PIZARRAS!

Para desarrollar  este juego separaremos a nuestros alumnos en tres grupos, cada grupo tendrá una pequeña pizarra de tiza.

 Utilizaremos este juego para repasar los conceptos de ciencias relativos a la unidad así como la pronunciacíon , escritura y  deteletreo a través de un pequeño test.

Los estudiantes escucharán la pregunta en inglés y dispondrán de tiempo para dialogar con su equipo .
A continuación , decimos en voz alta  1  2   3 .. Raise your board!!
y los alumnos y alumnas deben dejar la tiza , levantar  su pizarra y mostrar la respuesta.
Si ellos escribieron la respuesta correcta y la pronunciaron correctamente su equipo  recibirá un punto.
El equipo que más puntos tenga al final ganará el juego.


CONECTA 4

Nuestros estudiantes repasan el vocabulario en inglés y español de cada unidad con un juego llamado: CONECTA 4.

El juego consiste en escuchar una palabra en inglés que ellos deben señalar dentro de un dibujo que tenemos en la pizarra digital y a continuación deben decirla en español. Si ellos responden  correctamente podrán insertar su ficha azul o amarilla dentro del tablero de juego. El equipo que antes realice las cuatro en línea gana la partida.

THIS IS HALLOWEEN, THIS IS HALLOWEEN...

The foreign tradition of Halloween is increasingly present in our country, being very attractive for children and even for adults!

 We could not miss the opportunity to share this exchange of cultures with Rebecca, our American conversation assistant, who during the Halloween school day has done different activities with the children of our school . She has sung typical Halloween songs in English, has imitated the laughter of an evil witch, riding a flying broom, walking like a zombie ...

 Also from the subject of Art, at all levels, we have made different crafts to decorate our center with typical elements of this festivity such as pumpkins, spiders, haunted houses, bats, owls, ghosts ...

 It has been terrifyingly fun!

La tradición extranjera de Halloween cada vez está más presente en nuestro país, siendo muy atractiva para los más pequeños ¡y hasta para los más grandes! 

No podíamos perder la oportunidad de compartir este intercambio de culturas con Rebecca , nuestra auxiliar de conversación estadounidense ,que durante la jornada escolar  ha realizado diferentes actividades con los niños del centro con quienes ha cantados  canciones típicas de Halloween en inglés ,han imitado la risa de una bruja malvada, montado en escoba voladora, caminado como un zombie...

Además desde el área de Artística, en todos los niveles, hemos realizado diferentes manualidades para decorar   nuestro centro con elementos típicos de esta festividad como son calabazas, arañas, casas encantadas, murciélagos, búhos , fantasmas...

Ha sido terroríficamente divertido!

CELL MODEL

With the objective that students understand the composition of our bodies including cells,tissues and organs as well as their functions, the 5th grade students worked in pairs to create their own cell model using plasticine, and they labeled its four main parts (membrane, organells, nucleus and cytoplasm) using paper and toothpicks. Then, the students explained their model to the class.

Con el objetivo de que los estudiantes comprendan la composición de nuestro cuerpo incluyendo las células, tejidos y órganos así como sus funciones. Los alumnos de quinto curso han  trabajado en parejas  para crear su propio modelo de célula  utilizando plastilina y ademas han etiquetado sus tres partes principales (membrana, núcleo y citoplasma) utilizando papel y palillos.
A continuación  los alumnos y alumnas han expuesto su proyecto . 

SCIENCE CORNER

There's always so much to do at the beginning of the school year. So the first thing we have done has been to decorate the Science corner with the help of fifth grade students .We will dedicate this space to the exhibition of projects made from the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences subjects.




 Siempre hay muchas cosas que hacer al comienzo del  curso. Así que  lo primero que hemos hecho ha sido decorar el rincón de Ciencias con la ayuda de los alumnos y alumnas  de quinto curso.Este  espacio estará dedicado a la exposición de los proyectos elaborados en  las asignaturas de Ciencias Naturales y Ciencias Sociales.

If the students see decorate their notebook of Sciences, the notebook will become more than just a place to complete tasks. A beautiful science notebook encourages you to work on it.

Offering students the opportunity to personalize their science notebooks by decorating the cover at the time they bring their new notebook is an excellent way to start motivating them for the subject.

 Si los estudiantes ven su libreta de ciencias decorada , el cuaderno se convertirá en algo más que una herramienta  para completar tareas. Una bonita libreta de ciencias  anima a trabajar en ella.

Ofrecer a los estudiantes la oportunidad de personalizar sus cuadernos de ciencias mediante la decoración de la portada, en el momento en que traen su cuaderno nuevo, es una excelente manera de comenzar a motivarlos por la asignatura.

JEWELLERY IN BRONCE AND IRON AGE

Jewellery has been a part of human societies for as long as we can tell. . First, humans used shells, stones, and even bones to make jewellery then, they used metals.



 In the unit of Prehistory , we have researched the different jewels that people manufactured at Bronze and Iron Age and we have made different models with plasticine.

La joyería siempre ha sido parte de las sociedades humanas desde tenemos referencias. Primero, los humanos usaban conchas, piedras e incluso huesos para hacer joyas después usaron los metales .La joyería de metal es una de las características más destacadas de la vida de la Edad de Bronce.



  En la unidad de la Prehistoria, hemos investigado las diferentes joyas que las personas fabricaron en la Edad de Bronce y hemos representado  diferentes modelos con plastilina.

CLOTHES

In the subject of English, third-year students worked on the topic "Clothes". To do this, they have had to cut out different clothes from a magazine, draw the figure and add the words.To make it more challenging and add more language, they tried describing the clothes in more detail, e.g. “A red hat” or “A smart shirt”.

 En la asignatura de inglés, los alumnos y alumnas  de tercero trabajaron sobre  en el tema "La ropa". Para ello, tuvieron que cortar diferentes prendas de una revista, dibujar la figura y agregar las palabras . Para hacerlo más desafiante y agregar más lenguaje, trataron de describir  la ropa con más detalle, p. "Un sombrero rojo" o "Una camisa elegante"

LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM

In each unit, the youngest children learn, sing and dance a song related to the topic.
 
In unit called OUR SYSTEMS we dance to the rhythm of "THE SKELENTON DANCE" with Kirstie!! 

En cada unidad, los más pequeños aprenden, cantan y bailan una canción relacionada con el tema. En la unidad llamada Nuestros sistemas, bailamos al ritmo de "THE SKELETON DANCE" con Kirstie !!
