SCHOOL DAY OF NON VIOLENCE AND PEACE

On January 30th, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was murdered, and since 1964 the Day of Non-violence and Peace has been celebrated at schools from all over the world.

In English classroom  the children listened to and sang a song relative to the occasion  " PEACE FOR KIDS" and we thought of different ways in which we can be kind and help other people in order to make our school, community and the world a better place.

 The children took part in different craft activities and  murale in ARTS& CRAFTS  subject.

El 30 de enero de 1948, Mahatma Gandhi fue asesinado y, desde 1964, el Día de la No Violencia y la Paz se celebra en escuelas de todo el mundo.



En el aula de inglés escuchamos y cantamos una canción relacionada con la ocasión "PEACE FOR KIDS" y pensamos en las diferentes maneras en que podemos ser amables y ayudar a otras personas para hacer de nuestra escuela, nuestra comunidad y el mundo un lugar mejor.


  Los niños participaron en diferentes actividades plásticas y  murales programadas en  la asignatura bilingüe ARTS & CRAFTS.

WINTER LANDSCAPE PAINTING

We completed a winter landscape art project (inspired by this Pinterest link) that had to be done over 3 days because of waiting for paint to dry. 

We discussed many vocabulary words, such as: landscape,  shades, tints, horizon line, monochromatic, light source, and shadow.  This painting really packs in a lot of learning.  

 Students had their own paint palettes  We used plastic plates for the paint and students had 3 colours  (white , blue and black ).To the white add a SMALL amount of blue paint.  We painted a white circlish  shape. We paint around the white circlish shape with the new paint colour. Then we continue this with gradually adding blue paint to make it darker as you move outward from the white circlish shape.

 Then ,using black paint only,we paint silhouettes of a tree and using white paint ,we paint snow .

We have had a lot of fun painting in class!





PINTURA DE UN PAISAJE INVERNAL .


Completamos un proyecto de arte de paisaje invernal (inspirado en este enlace de Pinterest) que se tuvo que realizar durante 3 días debido a que teníamos que esperar a   que la pintura se secara.

Analizamos  muchas palabras de vocabulario, tales como: paisaje, sombras, tintes, línea del horizonte, monocromática, fuente de luz y sombra. Esta pintura realmente contiene mucho aprendizaje.


  Los estudiantes tenían sus propias paletas de pintura. Usamos platos  de plástico para la pintura y los estudiantes tenían 3 colores (blanco, azul y negro). En el blanco, agregué una PEQUEÑA cantidad de pintura azul. Pintamos una forma circular blanca. Pintamos alrededor de la forma de círculo blanco con el nuevo color de pintura. Luego continuamos con la adición de pintura azul gradualmente para hacerla más oscura a medida que te mueves hacia afuera desde la forma de círculo blanco. Luego, usando solo pintura negra, pintamos las siluetas de un árbol y usando pintura blanca, pintamos nieve.

Nos hemos divertido mucho pintando en clase!

MODEL OF A NEURON PROJECT.

 

The nervous system is made up of neurons. There are million of neuron in our brain. Sixth grade students watched a video to understand how neurons receive and transmit information as well as the structure  and their key components.

Then, in pairs,  they  have made a model of a neuron with plasticine and have labeled the parts .


 These have been great!

El sistema nervioso está formado por neuronas. Hay millones de neuronas en nuestro cerebro. Los estudiantes de sexto grado vieron un video para comprender cómo las neuronas reciben y transmiten información, así como su estructura y  sus componentes clave.

Luego, en parejas, han hecho un modelo de una neurona con plastilina y han etiquetado las partes.



  ¡ Han quedado genial!

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

In this unit, students should know and describe the main parts of the nervous system and their functions.

First,  we will see the video: NERVOUS SYSTEM  and then we will complete and paste in our notebook the image of the nervous system.


Next, we will color and cut out the parts of the brain  and paste them correctly in our notebook.

To find the parts of the brain and the functions of each of the parts: brain, cerebellum and brainstem, we use our book.

En esta unidad, los estudiantes deben conocer y describir las partes principales del sistema nervioso y sus funciones.


Primero, veremos este video , luego completaremos nuestro dibujo del sistema nervioso con las funciones principales y para terminar lo pegaremos en nuestro cuaderno .


A continuación, colorearemos y cortaremos las partes del cerebro y las pegaremos correctamente en nuestro cuaderno.

Para completar la actividad , escribimos junto a cada parte del cerebro su nombre y función,para ello  utilizaremos nuestro libro de texto.
